This is not your average school-based role. We are looking for an energetic, sporty and compassionate Sports Coach to work in a fantastic specialised ALN base within a highly regarded secondary school in Cardiff. If you’re a personal trainer, sports coach, sporty Teaching Assistant, Cover Supervisor, or aspiring PE teacher, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

The Role

You’ll support pupils with moderate to severe learning difficulties, including Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, amongst learning difficulty needs. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Coaching and supporting inclusive sports and physical activities
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, coordination, teamwork and independence
  • Supporting vocational and life-skills learning
  • Encouraging participation, motivation and enjoyment through movement and fitness

This is a hands-on, active role where sport is the vehicle for learning, confidence and wellbeing.

This role would be ideal if you are:

  • A Level 3 Personal Trainer (or hold an equivalent qualification allowing work in a fitness suite)
  • A sports coach, fitness instructor, or activity leader
  • A sporty Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor looking for a more active role
  • An aspiring PE teacher seeking invaluable SEN and school-based experience
  • A retired PE teacher wanting a rewarding, structured role
