Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a friendly and diverse primary school in the heart of Splott to recruit an Early Years Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible. This welcoming school has a strong community spirit and is passionate about embracing the new Curriculum for Wales. It places a real emphasis on play-based learning, outdoor provision, and hands-on experiences, with access to excellent facilities including a well-established Forest School, an Early Years garden, and an Edible Playground. The school also has two resource bases for pupils with complex learning needs and a Flying Start provision on site.

We are looking for a practitioner who has a genuine passion for Early Years education, play, and outdoor learning. You will have a strong understanding of child development and be confident making meaningful observations to support children’s next steps in learning. The successful candidate will enjoy following children’s interests and supporting learning through exploration, curiosity, and authentic experiences.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working within an Early Years setting
  • Be passionate about play-based and outdoor learning
  • Have a good understanding of child development
  • Be confident supporting learning through children’s interests
  • Hold EWC registration or be willing to register
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply
