We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate, and motivated individuals to join a welcoming and supportive school team as a Behaviour & Learning Mentor. This role offers invaluable experience supporting children and young people with social, emotional, behavioural, and learning needs while helping you build a strong foundation for future careers in psychology, education, counselling, or social care.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for students with emotional, behavioural, or additional learning needs.
- Support the implementation of behaviour and wellbeing strategies.
- Encourage positive engagement, focus, motivation, and emotional regulation.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils to promote confidence and progress.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN teams, and parents/carers to support pupil development.
This role is temporary, with the possibility of becoming permanent at a later date.
Qualifications
- Psychology degree or currently studying Psychology (or a related subject).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, adaptable, reliable, and empathetic.
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
- Full training and ongoing support provided.
