Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to support students within an Autism Base located in a mainstream secondary school in Cardiff. This rewarding role involves working closely with pupils aged 11-16 who have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), helping them access learning, develop social skills, and achieve their individual goals in a supportive educational environment. Experience with children or adults with ASC is necessary for this role.
Key Responsibilities- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with autism.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities.
- Support students with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction.
- Help create a positive, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
- Encourage independence and confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
- Previous experience supporting children or adults with autism is essential.
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting individuals with additional learning needs.
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
