We are looking for a caring, patient and reliable Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a specialist SEN school in Cardiff. The school supports primary-aged pupils with autism spectrum conditions, as well as significant sensory, social communication and learning needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who has completed Administering Medication training and is confident supporting pupils with medical needs within an education, care or support setting. The successful candidate will play an important role in helping pupils access learning safely, confidently and as independently as possible.
The role will involve working closely with teaching staff, families and relevant professionals to ensure individual needs are met throughout the school day. As part of the role, you may be required to support a pupil with diabetes care in line with their Individual Healthcare Plan. This could include:
- Monitoring blood glucose levels
- Recognising signs of hypo/hyperglycaemia
- Supporting with snacks and mealtimes
- Maintaining accurate records
- Following agreed school procedures
