Teaching Personnel is seeking a Trainee Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Caerphilly. No previous school experience is required. We'll provide the training, guidance, and support you need to succeed.
You will work within a mainstream secondary school supporting students aged 11-18, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes. You will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including:
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
As part of your role, you'll also help deliver targeted intervention sessions twice a week, using resources and strategies provided through ongoing training and support. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience in a close-knit school community that values both student wellbeing and staff development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to students
- Encouraging confidence, independence, and engagement in learning
