We are working with a local Ystrad school to find an individual to work as a behaviour support to assist pupils in lessons and with everyday tasks. Someone with previous experience dealing with behaviour would be vital as we need someone to start and be comfortable in the environment immediately. The pupils can range from ages 3-19, but generally you will stay with the same group of pupils for most lessons and break periods.
In classrooms your main role will require you to support the pupil and make sure that they are doing work in a timely manner and focusing; outside the classroom will be supporting pupils through lunches as sometimes that can be the most overwhelming part of the day, therefore engaging in activities and making the most of the outside apparatus will be important to keep the children engaged.
- Ensuring pupils are engaging in all sessions.
- To plan and implement appropriate techniques to deal with challenging behaviour in pupils where appropriate.
- To take part in relevant training and courses as required.
