About the Role
As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils within the school's specialist ALN department, working alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help students achieve their full potential. You will provide support both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping students overcome barriers to learning and develop confidence both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in lessons and intervention sessions.
- Deliver tailored one-to-one and small group support.
- Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, engagement, and independence.
- Assist students with academic, emotional, behavioural, and social development.
- Promote positive behaviour and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.
- Support teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support professionals.
- Gain valuable experience supporting young people with a range of learning needs.
Who We’re Looking For
No previous Teaching Assistant experience is required. We welcome applications from individuals who:

- Have personal or professional experience supporting individuals with SEN, ALN, autism, ADHD, or additional needs.
