This is a fantastic opportunity to work as a Teaching Assistantwithin a supportive, SEN school in Caerleon.

The role is ideal for Health and Social Care graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with experience supporting young people who are keen to develop their skills within education.

You'll play a key role in helping students achieve their potential by providing classroom support, encouraging engagement and promoting positive learning experiences.

The role involves

  • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons across a range of subjects.
  • Working with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Providing additional support for students and adapting the support for varying learning needs.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and helping to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Liaising with teaching staff, parents and the wider school team where required.

What you'll need

  • Experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, support work, coaching or similar).
  • A Health and Social Care qualification or relevant degree is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy and a proactive approach to supporting learning.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply, support provided).
  • Registration with the EWC (guidance available).
  • No formal teaching qualification required.
  • All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
  • All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
  • This advert is for a temporary position.
  • In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
