Teaching Personnel are delighted to be working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in the BL9 area of Bury, seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 2 Teacher to join their team from 1st September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for either a Fully Qualified Teacher (FQT) or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to develop their teaching career within a nurturing school environment. The successful candidate will be passionate about helping pupils reach their full potential during this important stage of their primary education.

About the Role

As the Year 2 class teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons that support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally. You will work closely with colleagues to ensure all children are prepared for the transition into Key Stage 2 while fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum
  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress to support achievement
  • Create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
  • Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all pupils
  • Support pupils' personal, social, and emotional development
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents/carers
  • Maintain effective classroom management and high expectations for behaviour

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Be either a Fully Qualified Teacher (FQT) or an Early Career Teacher (ECT)
  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2
  • A strong understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment expectations
  • A proactive, positive, and reflective approach to teaching
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
