Are you an enthusiastic and compassionate Teacher eager to support young people with Special Educational Needs? Teaching Personnel are currently working with a Secondary Special Provision in Bury to recruit a committed Teacher. The school has pupils from ages 11 to 18 and provides a variety of excellent facilities and equipment to best aid pupils' personal development and independence. Within this role, you would be working alongside experienced classroom staff who have a high commitment to providing a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver individualised lessons and interventions meeting the needs of pupils
  • Be confident to collaborate and lead a team
  • Monitor, track and regularly provide feedback regarding pupils' progress
  • Demonstrate a positive, supportive and safe learning environment
  • Regularly work with schools' SENCO staff and other teachers to develop individual learning plans
  • Promote social and emotional development alongside academic achievements
  • Regularly communicate with parents, carers and external agencies effectively

About You:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience in teaching young people with SEND needs and adapting learning materials for each child
  • Strong understanding of SEN needs, differentiation and therapeutic, trauma-informed approaches
  • Have knowledge and experience working with challenging behaviours
  • Knowledge of SEND support strategies, interventions and suitable practices
  • Ability to work with and lead a team of teaching assistants
