We are proud to be working in partnership with a nurturing and inclusive nursery school in Bury to recruit an experienced and passionate Early Years Teacher with an SEN specialism. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference during the most important stage of a child’s development. You will work within a well-supported early years setting, teaching small groups of children with a range of additional needs and developmental differences, using play-based, child-led approaches.
The Role
- Plan and deliver engaging, play-based learning in line with the EYFS framework.
- Support children with SEN including ASD, communication delays, sensory needs and developmental delay.
- Create a warm, structured and nurturing learning environment that promotes curiosity, confidence and emotional security.
- Lead early intervention strategies and contribute to individual support plans and EHCP targets.
- Work closely with nursery practitioners, SENCOs and external professionals such as speech and language therapists.
- Use a range of inclusive communication strategies (visuals, modelling, Makaton, sensory play).
- Track progress through observations, assessments and learning journals.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS).
- Strong experience within EYFS, ideally within SEN or specialist early years settings.
- A nurturing, patient and flexible teaching approach.
- Confident understanding of early intervention, inclusive practice and safeguarding.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
