Position: Teaching Assistant
Location: Bury St Edmunds
Hours: Monday to Friday - 08:30 – 15:30
Start Date: ASAP
You will work across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2, supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons and ensuring all pupils feel supported and included in the classroom.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils’ learning in the classroom under the direction of the class teacher
- Provide one-to-one or small group support, particularly in early literacy and numeracy
- Assist with preparing and tidying classroom resources and learning activities
- Help manage behaviour in a positive and consistent way
- Support the social and emotional wellbeing of pupils
- Supervise children during playtimes or lunchtimes when required
We welcome applicants who are:
- Passionate about working with young children and supporting their development
- Positive, nurturing, and confident communicators
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Hold GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Previous experience working in a primary school or with children is desirable, but not essential
