SEN Support Assistant (Driver Preferred) Location: Ormskirk and surrounding areas Pay: £14.25 to £15.50 per hour Hours: Typically 8:00am to 6:00pm Contract: Full Time and Long Term Opportunities Available Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential? Teaching Personnel is currently working with a number of primary schools, specialist provisions and alternative settings across Ormskirk and the surrounding areas that are seeking dedicated SEN Support Assistants to join their teams. We are looking for resilient, caring and proactive individuals who can provide consistent support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and complex learning needs. Due to the location of several partner schools, candidates with a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are highly desirable. Key Responsibilities • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs • Supporting children to access learning both inside and outside the classroom • Implementing strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families • Encouraging independence, confidence and engagement in learning • Supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural challenges • Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs and external professionals • Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment The Ideal Candidate • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH or behavioural needs • Confident supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviours • Patient, adaptable and resilient approach to support work • Strong communication and relationship-building skills • Enthusiastic about making a positive impact on children's lives • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred What We Offer • Competitive hourly pay from £14.25 to £15.50 per hour • Opportunities in a variety of school and specialist settings • Long term and permanent opportunities available • Ongoing support from a dedicated education consultant • Access to training and professional development opportunities • The chance to make a genuine difference to pupils who need additional support If you are an experienced SEN Support Assistant or have transferable experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, we would love to hear from you.
