The Role
- Support pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
- Help children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Assist pupils in managing their emotions and behaviours positively.
- Build trusting relationships that encourage engagement and learning.
- Support teachers in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Promote pupil wellbeing, confidence, and independence.
- Assist with behaviour management strategies and pastoral support.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and families.
We're Looking For
- Experience working as a Residential Support Worker, Care Worker, Support Worker, Youth Worker, or similar role.
- A passion for supporting children and young people to reach their full potential.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience.
- Confidence in managing challenging behaviours and supporting emotional regulation.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to different situations.
- A genuine desire to make a positive difference in education.
Previous school experience is not essential, as full support and guidance will be provided.
