Learning Support Assistant (1:1 & Small Group Intervention) Primary School located in Burnley Full-Time | Monday to Friday | Term Time Only Start date: November 2026 until July 2027 with the Potential to Become Permanent A welcoming primary school in Burnley is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their team after October half-term. This full-time role will involve providing 1:1 support to a pupil during the mornings, helping them access learning, remain engaged in lessons and achieve their individual targets. In the afternoons, you will work with small groups of children across the school, delivering targeted interventions to support progress in key areas such as literacy, numeracy and confidence-building. The successful candidate will be patient, nurturing and committed to supporting children with a range of learning needs. You will play a key role in helping pupils develop both academically and personally within a supportive and inclusive school environment. The Role Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil each morning. Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs. Support the pupil's academic, social and emotional development. Deliver small group intervention sessions during the afternoons. Work closely with teachers, SEND staff and parents to support pupil progress. Monitor and record progress against individual targets. Help create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment. The Ideal Candidate Will: Have previous experience working with primary-aged children. Be confident supporting pupils with additional learning needs. Have strong communication and relationship-building skills. Be patient, flexible and proactive in their approach. Work effectively as part of a team. Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential). Be committed to helping every child achieve their potential.
