Teaching Personnel is recruiting caring and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to work in a range of supportive schools across Budleigh Salterton and the surrounding areas. Role details

  • Pay Rate: £90–£100 per day
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am–3:30 pm

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, adapting learning to individual needs
  • Assist in delivering EHCPs, IEPs, and behaviour support plans
  • Promote inclusion, independence, and positive social interaction
  • Support emotional wellbeing, communication, and behaviour regulation
  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCo, and wider support staff

  • Previous SEND experience (desirable but not essential)
  • Transferable experience (e.g. care work, youth work, psychology, family SEND experience)
  • A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A genuine desire to learn and develop within education
