Teaching Personnel are currently seeking an experienced and confident SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time, long-term basis within primary and/or secondary SEN school environments across the Wirral. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and passionate support professional who has proven experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and is confident adapting their support to meet a range of complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Support pupils with a range of needs, including (but not limited to):
    • ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)
    • ADHD
    • SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs)
    • Learning difficulties
  • Help manage behaviour positively and effectively
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Promote independence and confidence in students

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant is essential
  • Strong understanding of supporting pupils with SEN in school settings
  • Confident, proactive, and adaptable approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs
