  • You'll be supporting students across a variety of educational settings, including:
  • Mainstream classrooms
  • SEN resource bases and specialist provisions
  • Inclusion and intervention centres
  • Small group and 1:1 support environments
  • Many of the students requiring support may face challenges relating to:
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Additional learning needs
  • Confidence and self-esteem
  • Behaviour and engagement within school

Your ability to build relationships, motivate others and provide structure can have a significant impact on a student's educational journey.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Sports specialist in a school-based support role, you may

  • Provide classroom support to students across KS3 and KS4
  • Deliver targeted interventions and mentoring sessions
  • Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning
  • Help students develop confidence, resilience and social skills
  • Assist teachers in creating an inclusive learning environment
  • Use sports, movement and coaching techniques to support wellbeing and participation
  • Work alongside SENCOs, pastoral staff and teaching teams

Skills & Experience

We\'re looking for candidates who have

  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive, energetic and patient approach
  • Confidence managing behaviour and setting clear expectations
  • The ability to build trust and rapport with students
  • A willingness to learn and adapt in a school environment
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Relevant coaching qualifications, sports degrees or mentoring experience are advantageous but not essential.
