We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary setting in Bristol. This rewarding role involves supporting primary-aged pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), orModerate Learning Difficulties (MLD).
The Role
You will:
Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual EHCP targets
Assist pupils with complex communication and sensory needs
Support personal care where required (including feeding and hygiene)
Implement structured routines and behaviour support strategies
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
Experience working with children with PMLD, ASC, or MLD (school or care setting)
Calm, patient, and resilient approach
Understanding of sensory integration and communication strategies (e.g., PECS, Makaton - desirable)
Committed to inclusive education
Relevant Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
