We are working with a friendly and welcoming primary school in South Bristol who are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 class from September. This is a general classroom-based role, supporting the class teacher and pupils across the school day to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Supporting learning across the Year 2 classroom
  • Working with small groups and individual pupils as required
  • Helping children to stay engaged, confident, and supported in their learning
  • Assisting with classroom preparation and daily routines
  • Supporting pupils’ academic progress, social development, and wellbeing
  • Working closely with the class teacher and wider school staff

Requirements:

  • Patient, enthusiastic, and nurturing
  • Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting (desirable)
  • A genuine interest in supporting primary-aged pupils
  • Positive, proactive, and able to work as part of a team
  • Able to commit to full-time, term‑time hours
  • Qualification desirable, but not essential

School-based experience is desirable; however, we are primarily looking for the right personality and a genuine passion for working with children. Applicants with informal childcare experience (such as youth work, church groups, holiday camps, or similar) are also encouraged to apply.
