We are looking for a confident and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in the BS34 area of Bristol. This role involves providing 1-1 support to a child in Key Stage 2 and would suit someone with SEN experience who is sporty and energetic. A background in sports coaching or PE would be a great fit for this position.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Providing dedicated 1-1 support to a child in KS2
- Supporting the pupil with their learning, behaviour and engagement
- Using your energy and enthusiasm to build a positive relationship with the child
- Incorporating movement and active learning where appropriate
- Working closely with class teachers, SENCo and senior staff
- Helping the pupil access the curriculum and reach their potential
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to the class teacher
What We Are Looking For:
- TA qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience supporting children with SEN
- A sporty, active approach - sports coaching experience would be ideal
- Confidence working 1-1 with children in KS2
- A patient, positive and resilient attitude
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Reliability and professionalism
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
