The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll be leading the classroom in the absence of the teacher, ensuring pupils stay on task and the lesson runs smoothly.

This isn’t a teaching role — but it does require presence, confidence and the ability to manage a room.

  • Delivering pre-set lesson work across a range of subjects
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school expectations
  • Keeping pupils engaged and focused on their work
  • Responding calmly and confidently to challenges
  • Feeding back to teaching staff on how the lesson went

You don’t need formal teaching experience — but you do need to be comfortable leading a classroom.
