Teaching Personnel are working closely with a supportive and inclusive school in the Brighton & Hove area that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Child Mentor to join their team. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
The Role
- Provide tailored mentoring support to pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Act as a positive role model, building strong and trusting relationships with students
- Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
- Encourage positive engagement in learning and school life
- Help students develop self-confidence, independence, and emotional regulation skills
- Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff to support pupil progress
The Ideal Candidate
- Has experience working with children or young people in an educational, mentoring, coaching, or support setting
- Is a strong role model who can inspire and motivate young people
- Demonstrates patience, resilience, and excellent communication skills
- Has experience supporting pupils with additional needs, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, or behavioural challenges
- Is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people
Position Details
- Location: Brighton & Hove
- Travel: Accessible by bus and car
- Pay: £360 – £460 per week (inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay)
- Contract: Temp-to-Perm
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
- DBS: Enhanced Child Workforce DBS required
