A SEN/PRU Primary School in Bournemouth is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.
The Role:
- You will be responsible for supporting classroom teachers in providing the best support possible to students ranging in the ages 4-11 years old, with various SEN and behavioural difficulties such as ADHD, ADD, ASD, CD, MLD, OCD, ODD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties and other behavioural needs.
- The school is extremely committed to preparing pupils for a safe, happy and productive adult life, as well as having amazing commitment to safeguarding children and promoting children’s welfare.
- It is expected of all staff, governors, volunteers and visitors to share this same commitment to maintain a vigilant and safe environment.
- Their approach in developing a strong relationship with their pupils helps empower the students to face and embrace challenges in a safe and consistent environment.
Who We Are Looking For:
- Applicant must be comfortable working in a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit).
- A patient, resilient, innovative and caring individual with a compassionate approach to supporting children.
- SEMH/mental health experience in or out of an educational setting.
- Able to collaborate with teachers and other support staff.
- Understanding of positive behaviour support strategies.
- Able to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and safely.
Working Hours/Benefits:
- Full Time Monday and Tuesday = 08:30 – 16:00
- Wednesday and Thursday = 08:30 – 15:15
- Friday = 08:30 – 15:00

- 12.07% Holiday Pay.
