The Role

As a Teaching Assistant in a PRU setting, you must have a dedicated, resilient and patient approach to supporting young people. Within this school, students aged 4-11 years old will have various SEN diagnoses with behavioural difficulties, which may include:

  • ADHD / ADD
  • Autism Spectrum Conditions
  • Conduct Disorder
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Oppositional Defiant Disorder
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties

The school has amazing facilities such as sensory rooms and calming spaces to help aid in the emotional regulation of the children and is dedicated to helping every pupil thrive in a safe, supportive and inspiring environment. Safeguarding is at the heart of everything they do, and everyone on site is expected to uphold this commitment. By building strong, trusting relationships, the school empowers students to grow in confidence and tackle challenges with resilience.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Must have a dedicated, resilient and patient approach to supporting young people
  • Must be Team Teach trained
  • SEMH/mental health experience in or out of an educational setting
  • Understanding of positive behaviour support strategies
  • Able to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and safely
