Teaching Assistant – 1:1 & General Classroom Support Location: Bournemouth Role: Full Time Start: Immediate Contract: Temporary to Permanent opportunity Teaching Personnel are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Bournemouth. This is a full-time position starting immediately, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right person. The role will involve providing 1:1 support to students within the school's specialist provision, helping them to access learning, build confidence and develop their independence. Alongside this, you will also provide general classroom support, working with teachers and other students across the school when required. We are looking for someone who is approachable, patient and genuinely enjoys working with young people. Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant isn't essential, but you must have some experience working with children or young people, or have previous experience in a school setting. The role will involve: Providing 1:1 support to students within the school's provision Helping students engage with their learning and develop independence Supporting students both inside and outside the classroom Working alongside class teachers to support learning and behaviour Providing general TA support across the school when required Building positive and trusting relationships with students Helping to create a calm, supportive and inclusive learning environment The ideal candidate will have: Experience working with children or young people, or previous school-based experience A patient, caring and supportive approach The ability to build strong relationships with students Good communication and teamwork skills A positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in A genuine interest in helping young people achieve their potential This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a career in education or for an experienced support worker looking for a new challenge.
