If you're considering a career in education but would like to gain hands-on classroom experience before stepping into teacher training, this could be the perfect opportunity.
We're working with schools across the Bournemouth area who are offering a unique salaried teacher training pathway. This two-year programme allows you to earn while you learn, gain valuable school-based experience and work towards achieving your PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Your first year is all about building confidence and understanding what life in a school is really like. You'll be working in the classroom every day, supporting pupils and developing the skills needed for a successful teaching career.
Responsibilities will include:
- Supervising classes during teacher absences
- Delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects
- Supporting pupils with their learning and behaviour
- Building positive relationships with students and staff
- Developing classroom management techniques
- Gaining a strong understanding of school life and educational practice
This year provides an excellent foundation before moving into formal teacher training.
Once you've completed your first year, you'll progress onto a fully funded teacher training programme, working towards your PGCE and QTS while continuing to gain valuable classroom experience.
During your training year, you'll develop skills in:
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons
- Assessing student progress
- Classroom and behaviour management
- Adapting teaching to meet different learning needs
- Professional practice and reflective development
- Salary of £23,000 - £27,000
- Fully funded PGCE

- Ongoing mentorship from experienced education professionals
- Practical classroom experience from day one
- A long-term route into a teaching career
- The opportunity to remain within the same school throughout the programme
We're keen to hear from graduates or career changers who are passionate about education and making a difference in young people's lives.
To be considered, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree (or be due to graduate)
