Reception Teaching Assistant (Full Time)
Start Date
September 2026
There is something truly special about Reception.
Every day is filled with curiosity, laughter, discovery and those magical moments when a child achieves something for the very first time.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and dedicated Reception Teaching Assistant to join one of our lovely infant schools in Bournemouth this September.
If you love working with young children, enjoy being part of a supportive team and want to make a genuine difference every single day, we'd love to hear from you.
Our school is a happy, welcoming place where children are known, valued and encouraged to become confident, independent learners.
We believe that our staff are just as important as our pupils, so we work hard to create a positive, supportive environment where everyone feels appreciated and has opportunities to grow.
About the role
As part of our Reception team, you'll play an important role in helping children settle into school life, develop a love of learning and build the confidence that will support them throughout their education.
No two days are the same.
One moment you could be sharing stories, building castles or exploring the outdoors, and the next you'll be celebrating a child's first successful attempt at writing their name or solving a problem independently.
It's a role that's busy, rewarding and full of memorable moments.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Loves working with young children and understands how they learn best.
- Is kind, patient, positive and full of enthusiasm.
- Enjoys working as part of a team and building strong relationships with families.
- Brings energy, creativity and a willingness to get involved in every aspect of school life.
- Wants to make a real difference to children's confidence, wellbeing and learning.
- Has GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above).
Experience in an EYFS setting is desirable, but if you're passionate about early years and eager to learn, we'd still love to hear from you.
What We Offer
- Wonderful children who will make you smile every day.
- Friendly, supportive colleagues who genuinely enjoy working together.
- A leadership team that values and invests in its staff.
- High-quality professional development and opportunities to grow your career.
- A beautiful learning environment where creativity and curiosity are encouraged.
- The chance to be part of a school community where kindness, respect and teamwork are at the heart of everything we do.
If you're looking for more than just a job—if you're looking for a place where you'll feel welcomed, valued and inspired—we would be delighted to hear from you.
Visits to the school are warmly encouraged. We'd love to show you what makes our school such a special place to work.
Apply today and come and be part of our school family from September.
Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and all pre-employment checks in line with safer recruitment guidance.
