We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in BL5 from September. This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support for a child with behavioural and learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop positive relationships, and achieve their individual targets within the classroom environment.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Be confident supporting pupils with behavioural and learning difficulties
- Demonstrate patience, resilience, and a positive attitude
- Build strong and trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Support the child's academic, social, and emotional development
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies and interventions
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or care setting
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Qualifications:
- Level 2 and Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualifications are highly desirable, and candidates holding either qualification are warmly encouraged to apply.
- Relevant SEN experience will also be considered.
