Behaviour Intervention Support Assistant Bolton – Full-time opportunity – September Start – Via Teaching Personnel. Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a Behaviour Intervention Support Assistant to work within a specialist provision in Bolton, supporting pupils who need extra guidance to succeed.

About the Setting

This provision supports students aged 11–16 (KS3–KS4) with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have faced challenges in mainstream education. It adopts a holistic, student‑centred approach, combining academic learning with a strong focus on emotional wellbeing, behaviour support, and life skills. Staff are committed to creating a safe, structured and nurturing environment where every young person is given the opportunity to reset, rebuild confidence, and achieve success.

The Role

As a Behaviour Intervention Support Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students manage their behaviour, engage in learning, and develop positive coping strategies. You will work both 1:1 and in small groups, supporting pupils inside and outside the classroom. Key Responsibilities

  • Strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries
  • A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed

Desirable

  • Team Teach or other de‑escalation training
  • Experience in alternative provisions, PRUs, or similar settings
  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or youth work
