Teaching Personnel are seeking to appoint a SEN Support Assistant to support pupils within a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the BL4 area. This part-time role will begin in September and is expected to continue throughout the academic year.
You will be working within the school’s SEN provision, supporting pupils in Key Stage 2 through a mix of 1:1 support and small-group interventions. Pupils may present with a range of additional needs, including social, emotional, and learning-based needs. Your role will be to help them engage positively with learning, develop confidence, and make meaningful progress.
- Providing 1:1 support tailored to individual pupil needs
- Supporting or leading small-group interventions within the SEN provision
- Helping pupils stay regulated, focused, and ready to learn
- Modelling positive behaviour and implementing SEN strategies under SENCO guidance
- Working collaboratively with class teachers, SENCO, and support staff
- Contributing to observations and basic progress monitoring
Experienced in supporting children or young people with additional needs (school-based or transferable experience welcomed).
Skilled at building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
