Level 2 Teaching Assistant - Maternity Cover

Location: BL5 area
Hours: Full time, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Contract: Maternity cover
Start: October half term
End: End of the academic year

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in the BL5 area on a full-time maternity cover basis.

The successful candidate will work across EYFS and Key Stage 1, providing general classroom support and helping children to engage, learn and thrive.

The role will include:

• Supporting teaching and learning across EYFS and KS1




• Providing targeted and general support to pupils in the classroom




• Working with individuals and small groups to support learning and development




• Supporting children with their phonics learning




• Helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment




• Working closely with teachers and other members of staff

Experience delivering phonics is highly desirable, although we would also welcome applications from enthusiastic candidates with a strong understanding of early reading and a willingness to develop their skills.

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent




• Has experience working with children within EYFS and/or KS1




• Is confident, caring and enthusiastic




• Has a positive and nurturing approach




• Can work effectively as part of a team




• Is reliable, adaptable and committed to supporting children to achieve their best
