We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Intervention Assistant to join a specialist SEMH/PRU school in Bolton on a full-time basis. This is a rewarding opportunity for experienced education professionals who are passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

The Role

  • Supporting students with challenging behaviour and SEMH needs
  • Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to promote positive behaviour
  • Delivering targeted behaviour interventions and emotional support
  • Building strong, positive relationships with pupils
  • Supporting students both inside and outside the classroom
  • Helping maintain a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working within SEMH schools, PRUs, or alternative provisions
  • Must have previous experience through Teaching Personnel or similar education staffing agencies
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • Confident supporting vulnerable students with additional needs
  • Full-time availability only
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable

  • Team Teach or similar behaviour management training
  • Experience supporting students with ASD, ADHD, or trauma-related behaviours
  • Background in youth work, support work, or education settings
