We are currently recruiting experienced and dedicated Maths or English Tutors to provide 1:1 support to pupils in home or school settings across the S44 Bolsover area. This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people who may require additional educational support due to gaps in learning, SEN/SEND needs, anxiety, school avoidance, or other barriers to education. You will deliver personalised tuition sessions tailored to each pupil’s individual needs, helping them build confidence and achieve positive academic outcomes.
Responsibilities- Deliver engaging and tailored 1:1 Maths or English tuition sessions
- Adapt teaching methods and resources to suit individual learning needs
- Support pupils academically, emotionally, and socially
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and schools
- Encourage confidence, engagement, and independence in learning
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate session records
- Create a safe and supportive learning environment
- Minimum 1 year teaching or tutoring experience within the UK
- Strong knowledge of Maths and/or English curriculum
- Experience working with children or young people
- Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
- Patient, reliable, and flexible approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Driving licence and access to transport preferred
- SEN/SEND experience
- Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, or anxiety
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or tutoring background
