1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant

Full-time, Monday - Friday (8:45-15:30). Starting ASAP for the remainder of the academic year, with the possibility to move into September. £14.25 - £15.30 per hour.

Teaching Personnel are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a ‘GOOD’ Primary School in the FY2 area. This new opportunity will be working closely with a child with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The successful Teaching Assistant will work 1:1 with a KS2 child, providing tailored support and promoting growth academically and personally. The child has difficulties managing their emotions and behaviour, often showing inappropriate responses to situations and needing direct support to help them regulate.

The school aims to provide an exciting and challenging curriculum in a bright, stimulating environment. They recognise that change is a driving force in school improvement and are committed to being the best they can be. Therefore, they need an ideal candidate who will bring creative ideas and flexibility across the school.

Responsibilities include:

  • Building a rapport with the child to ensure they feel safe in the environment.
  • Working alongside teachers and agencies with the development and implementation of EHCPs and provision maps.
  • Undergoing and utilising any specific training.

Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or higher qualification.
  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs is preferred.

The successful candidate will have to meet the school prior to getting the role. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.

This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
