Design and Technology Teacher

Location: Blackburn

Contract: Full‑time

Start Date: September 2026

Salary: From £170 per day (dependant on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and motivated Design and Technology Teacher to join a successful and forward‑thinking D&T department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or an ambitious ECT looking to begin their career in a highly supportive environment. You will deliver engaging, creative, and practical lessons that inspire students, foster innovation, and develop problem‑solving skills across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The ability to teach one or more D&T specialisms - Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics, or Food Technology - is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, hands‑on, and differentiated lessons across KS3-KS4 up to GCSE level.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and development within the Design & Technology department.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, safety, and workshop practice.
  • Take part in departmental meetings, CPD sessions, and whole‑school initiatives.
  • Support the academic, creative, and personal growth of all learners.
