We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Blackburn. This role will involve supporting pupils across Key Stages 2, 3 and 4, many of whom present with challenging behaviours and complex emotional needs. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity, offering the chance to secure a long-term position within a supportive and rewarding environment.
- Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assist the class teacher with delivering tailored learning activities
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students
- Help create a safe, structured and engaging learning environment
- Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours effectively
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
