Hours: 5 afternoons per week (term time only)
We are looking to appoint a caring, committed, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. This part-time, afternoons-only role supports two children in a Year 6 class, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
- Provide one-to-one and targeted support for two pupils with Special Educational Needs in a Year 6 classroom.
- Support pupils to access the curriculum and remain engaged in learning.
- Assist with implementing individual support plans and agreed strategies.
- Promote positive behaviour, independence, and emotional wellbeing.
- Liaise effectively with the class teacher, SENDCo, and other professionals.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
Requirements:
- Have experience working with children, preferably those with Special Educational Needs.
- Be patient, caring, and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
- Have good communication and teamwork skills.
- Be reliable, adaptable, and able to work on their own initiative.
- Hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- A Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
