Are you passionate about supporting children to reach their full potential? We are looking for a caring, patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide full-time 1:1 support to a primary-aged child with ADHD.
The Role
- You will work closely with the child, class teacher and SENCO to provide consistent support throughout the school day.
- You will help the child to engage positively with learning, develop confidence and independence, and manage the challenges they may experience in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
- Encourage engagement and participation in classroom activities.
- Support the child with focus, attention, organisation and transitions.
- Build a positive, trusting relationship with the child.
- Use appropriate strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
- Adapt activities and learning approaches to meet individual needs.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team.
- Encourage independence and celebrate the child's progress and achievements.
- Maintain a calm, consistent and nurturing approach at all times.
