We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a friendly and supportive school in Blackburn. The successful candidate will work across all year groups, providing high-quality classroom support, delivering interventions, and leading lessons in the teacher’s absence. Key Responsibilities
- Work across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2 to support teaching and learning.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons when required, covering classes in the absence of the teacher.
- Support individual and small groups of pupils to help them achieve learning goals.
- Lead targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum areas.
- Assist teachers in planning, assessing, and tracking pupil progress.
- Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and senior leaders to uphold school values and policies.
Requirements
- Hold a Level 4 HLTA qualification (or equivalent).
- Proven experience working across primary year groups.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to deliver lessons confidently and maintain high standards of learning.
- A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply).
Desirable
- Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- First Aid training or other relevant professional development.
