Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive nursery in the B29 area of Birmingham to recruit an experienced and passionate SENDCo. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional who is committed to supporting children with additional needs and ensuring every child receives the best possible start to their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the nursery.
- Identify and assess children's additional needs at an early stage.
- Develop, implement, and review individual support plans and targets.
- Work collaboratively with nursery staff, parents, carers, and external agencies.
- Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
- Support staff with strategies, interventions, and inclusive teaching practices.
- Maintain accurate SEND records and documentation.
- Promote an inclusive environment where all children can thrive.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience working as a SENDCo or within a SEND leadership role.
- A strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
- Experience supporting children with a range of additional needs.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A collaborative and proactive approach.
- Relevant childcare, education, or SEND qualifications.
- SENDCo qualification desirable but not essential.
- Enhanced DBS or willing to apply.
