About the role: We are currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher to join one of our valued partner schools in Birmingham from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate DT Teacher looking to make a positive impact within a supportive and well-established school environment. The successful candidate will be confident delivering engaging and creative lessons across a range of Design & Technology disciplines, inspiring students to develop practical skills, creativity and problem‑solving abilities.

Both experienced teachers and ECTs are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Design & Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that supports student achievement.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning.
  • Contribute to departmental planning and wider school activities where required.
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are followed within practical workshop and classroom settings.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Design & Technology within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge across one or more DT specialisms.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
