About the role:

We are currently seeking a passionate and understanding teaching assistant to provide 1:1 support for a non-verbal pupil, who is part of an inclusive and welcoming primary school. This will be a great new opportunity for someone who has the drive to make a huge difference to a child’s educational and emotional growth, whilst also gaining key skills to add to their own portfolio.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting a year group pupil who is non-verbal, on a day-to-day basis.
  • Being able to implement bespoke and tailored strategies to aid engagement and focus.
  • Assisting the class teacher to deliver their lessons and behaviour management within the classroom.
  • Encouraging appropriate social interactions and confidence-building.
  • Liaising with the SENCO, pupils’ parents and all external agencies involved.

  • Have a commitment to ensuring positive pupil wellbeing.
