This is an excellent opportunity to gain invaluable experience supporting young people in an educational setting, particularly if you’re considering a future career in educational psychology, teaching, counselling, or mental health support.
The Role
In this role, you will work closely with pupils who may be facing a range of behavioural, emotional, or additional learning challenges. Some students may find it difficult to engage in a mainstream classroom setting and require targeted 1:1 support or small group interventions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, helping them stay engaged and focused
- Assisting students in managing their behaviour and emotions in a positive way
- Helping to create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
- Working alongside teachers and SEN staff to implement tailored support strategies
- Building trusting relationships with pupils and guiding them through challenging periods in school
