We are looking for an experienced and compassionate 1:1 Behaviour Specialist Tutor to provide personalised educational and behavioural support to pupils in the Leicester area.


The successful candidate will work with pupils on a one-to-one basis, either at the pupil's home or within a school setting, primarily during school hours. This role is ideal for an experienced teacher, tutor, behaviour mentor, or education professional with a strong understanding of behaviour management and additional learning needs.


Key Responsibilities



  • Provide high-quality 1:1 tuition and behavioural support tailored to the individual pupil.

  • Develop positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, engagement, confidence, and learning.

  • Use appropriate behaviour-management and de-escalation strategies.

  • Adapt teaching approaches and resources to meet individual needs.

  • Create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment.

  • Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour, and engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, schools, and other professionals.

  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and a return to successful learning.


Requirements



  • Minimum 2 years' teaching or relevant educational experience in the UK.

  • Experience supporting pupils with behavioural, social, emotional, or additional learning needs.

  • Previous experience providing 1:1 support is highly desirable.

  • Relevant teaching, tutoring, behaviour support, or education qualification.

  • Strong understanding of positive behaviour management strategies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Patient, reliable, resilient, and able to build positive relationships with challenging or disengaged pupils.

  • Ability to work independently and adapt to individual pupil needs.

  • Enhanced DBS check required, or willingness to obtain one.

  • Right to work in the UK.
