Location: Plymouth

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Type: Full-time, Term Time Only

We are seeking a confident and resilient Behaviour Mentor / Cover Supervisor to work in secondary and specialist school settings across Plymouth, supporting pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support.

This role is ideal for someone with experience managing behaviour, supporting disengaged learners, and confidently supervising classes when required.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social needs
  • Working 1:1 or in small groups to support regulation and engagement
  • Providing classroom cover when required, delivering pre-set work
  • Implementing behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
  • Building positive, consistent relationships with pupils
  • Supporting pupils who may have SEMH, ASD, or additional needs
  • Working closely with teaching staff, SEN teams, and pastoral leads

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational or support setting
  • Strong behaviour management and calm, consistent approach
  • Confidence supervising classes and managing challenging behaviour
  • Ability to build rapport quickly with pupils
  • Resilient, patient, and proactive attitude

Desirable (but not essential):

  • SEMH or SEND experience
  • Team Teach or behaviour-focused training
  • Previous Cover Supervisor or mentoring experience
