• We are currently recruiting for a

Behaviour Management Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Chorley from September.

This is a full-time role supporting pupils who require additional guidance, structure, and emotional support to help them succeed both academically and personally.

This position would particularly suit candidates from an ex-Forces background

, although applicants from care, youth work, support work, residential care, or similar settings are strongly encouraged to apply.

As a Behaviour Management Teaching Assistant, you will

• Support students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours both in and out of the classroom.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and act as a positive role model.
• Help students regulate their emotions and develop coping strategies.
• Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to implement behaviour support plans.
• Encourage engagement, attendance, and participation in learning.
• Promote a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.

We are looking for individuals who

• Have experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults in a behavioural, care, support, or educational setting.
• Possess strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills.
• Are resilient, patient, and able to remain calm under pressure.
• Have a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
• Can build trusting relationships while maintaining clear boundaries.
• Hold a full driving licence (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
