About the Role
We’re looking for a caring, patient and motivated individual to join a welcoming school community in Bath (BA3) as a School-Based SEN Support Practitioner. This is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children and young people with a wide range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including communication needs, learning difficulties, sensory needs, and social-emotional challenges. You do not need formal qualifications... just the right mindset, a willingness to learn, and experience from people-focused environments such as care, youth work, psychology, sports coaching, mentoring or education studies.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with diverse SEN needs
- Help implement personalised learning plans and behaviour or support strategies
- Assist with emotional regulation, communication, engagement and confidence-building
- Support sensory needs and structured routines where required
- Create a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment for all learners
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and wider support teams
- Encourage independence, resilience and positive progress for each pupil

- Experience in care, youth support, psychology, education studies, sports coaching, playwork or other people-focused roles
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

- Reliability and a proactive approach to teamwork
