We are seeking a committed and compassionate Class Teacher to work within a secondary SEMH setting, teaching pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4 (ages 11–16). This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, structured lessons to small classes of students who require a highly supportive and consistent approach to learning. Pupils at the school may present with:
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Challenging behaviour linked to emotional regulation difficulties
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- Trauma, attachment difficulties, and anxiety
- Gaps in prior learning and low engagement with education
The role requires strong behaviour management, restorative approaches, and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students who may have experienced difficulties in mainstream education. You will work closely with Teaching Assistants, pastoral staff, and therapeutic professionals to support both academic progress and emotional development.
